Research assistant/PhD student in the field of speech perception and first-language speech acquisition

Our lab, focusing on speech perception and first-language speech sound acquisition, is seeking a new colleague – a research assistant/PhD student.

We need you if you:

  • hold a master’s degree, or are in the last year of MA studies, in the field of linguistics, phonetics, cognitive psychology, (computational) neuroscience or similar
  • are motivated to do research on speech sound perception and acquisition
  • are interested in the literature and developments in the field and are able to critically evaluate it
  • have (or are highly motivated to acquire) experience with laboratory research on speech perception in adults and infants or with computational modelling of speech acquisition and processing
  • are able to do creative and inventive work and problem solving

  • salary:
    • until 1.10.2019: 10k–12k CZK/month at 0.5 fte
    • from 1.10.2019: 11k–13k CZK + netto stipend 10 500 CZK/month

The position is to be filled from the earliest possible starting date. The PhD track would start on 1.10.2019 and is for four years. As of fall 2019 there is the possibility to apply for additional PhD-student-aimed funding.
